How should a med spa ask clients for reviews?
By the partners at Shefa Atelier ·
The short answer
Ask at the right moment — when a client is happy with their result — make it one tap to leave a review, ask every satisfied client rather than a selected few, and respond to every review professionally. Don't offer incentives for reviews or write them yourself.
Timing and who asks
The best moment is usually when a client sees or comments on their result, often at a follow-up visit. A personal ask from the provider or coordinator works better than an automated message alone; a follow-up link makes it easy.
Respect the rules
- Don't offer discounts, gifts or entries in exchange for reviews.
- Don't only ask clients you expect to be positive.
- Never post reviews on behalf of clients or staff.
- When responding, never confirm that someone is a client or mention their treatment; privacy rules apply.
Respond to every review
Thank people briefly for positive reviews. For negative ones, respond calmly, without details, and invite them to contact you directly. Future clients read the replies as closely as the reviews.
